You can (without web) simply search handles, navigate, fixed waypoints, etc. And their internet site also provides several other features such as route data/elevation data/GPS assistance, among others, which I presume is available only in the full edition. Since this is an offline mapping device, you'll have got to down load the maps and check everything before your vacation. Although it seems a little bit gradual to move in the very first time, it's faster the second time onwards, once the information has ended up cached.

In Word 2011 I like to create PDFs using the borderless A4 option available in the driver for my Epson 2100. In the last couple of weeks I find I can't change this setting - it keeps defaulting back to the standard A4 setup. In Mac Word File->Page Setup., in the 'Format For' dropdown, you should be able to choose a printer called 'Any Printer' which will allow you to select a number of standard formats including A3. (But if you choose that format, don't expect to be able to print it to a printer that cannot print A3:-) ).
